Free CNA Test

One of the things you are going to have on your mind when starting your career as a Certified Nursing Assistant is how much the testing is going to cost you.

Now you probably already know that the course itself can be between $600 to $900 depending on what state you are in and what educational institution you have chosen, however your costs are not going to end there.

You will still be expected to pass two separate tests; the clinical test and the theoretical test. Depending again on what state you are in, you can expect to pay around $100 to $300 for these tests, so you really do not want to be repeating it over and over again.

The good news, is that in many states you will have access to FREE CNA practice tests, so that you can be properly prepare for the real thing. Most of the time you can find out about where and when these tests are being held, and the educational institution you are taking the course through will be able to help you schedule them.

In terms of the practical test, you will find that they usually only occur one to two times in any given year. This is because they need ample time to find someone to administer them, find a suitable location, and of course give people time to find volunteers to practice with them. If you happen to fail this portion, you will be able to retake the practice test as many times as you wish, however there may be a waiting period of one year, or other time frame, depending on your state. This is to give everyone a fair shot at getting these practice tests and benefit ting from them.

In terms of the technical portion of the CNA exam, you can opt to do these in person, like the clinical exam, or you can opt to take the test at any one of numerous websites over and over again as much as you wish.

It is important to remember that the exams do tend to differ from state to state, so you want to be sure you are taking the exams which correspond to where you will be taking the CNA Licensing Exam.

Since there is a cost associated with the CNA exam, you may wish to hold off on taking the exam until you know where you are going to wind up. Not all states have a reciprocity agreement, and therefore may require you to retake the exams anyway if you are thinking of transferring to another state.

In some rare cases, and if you have high enough results in your course, you may be selected for a sponsorship program, where a future employer will pay for the costs of your CNA exam and licensing, in return for a commitment from you of a certain period of time at a certain rate of pay. This may be an option for you if you really can't afford to take the exam on your own, however if you can, you will really want to do it yourself.
